Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Administrative Specialist to join our team at the NC Department of Transportation. This role will provide administrative support to the Field Operations Section, ensuring the smooth operation of office management functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical and administrative support to the Field Operations Section
  • Perform and coordinate tasks such as scanning, emailing, copying, sorting, data processing, and maintaining records
  • Work with a team to handle, coordinate, and process registrations for certification courses
  • Aid in contract management of private facilities and generate purchase orders
  • Monitor unit funds and expenditures, and ensure timely and accurate payments and invoice processing
Requirements
  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience
  • Knowledge of modern office and business administrative procedures, practices, and equipment
  • Experience with computer-based software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to compile, assimilate, and organize both printed and electronic information
  • Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge of data collection, storage, organization, manipulation, and/or analysis of data
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, officials, and the public
