Bonneville Power Administration is a leading organization in the field of hydro energy modeling, and we are seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst Lead to join our team.

Job Description

We are looking for a talented Data Analyst Lead to lead our hydro energy modeling efforts. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and applying mathematical models to track expected and potential hydro energy and capacity.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct, plan, and carry out complete operations research assignments that involve initiating, applying, and planning major developmental studies.
  • Provide significant and innovative recommendations for advancing programs and/or methods.
  • Evaluate data resulting from applying mathematical or statistical tools, models, methods, and techniques to identify and track expected regional hydro energy and capacity positions in the mid-term and long-term.
  • Provide authoritative advice, analysis, and conclusions to other sections that either contribute to or require analyses of hydro system operational issues.
  • Provide training, briefings, and explanations to individuals and groups on development and incorporation of power and nonpower requirements into system operations.
  • Act as the authoritative source of technical input to publications or other documents that are the basis for formulating policy.

Requirements

This position requires a degree in operations research or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.

Specialized Experience Requirements

A qualified candidate's resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level, GS-13, in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as conducting analytical investigations using advanced scientific and/or mathematical methodology and problem solving; planning, organizing, and conducting/leading extremely complex technical analyses; and providing significant and innovative recommendations for advancing programs and/or methods.

Benefits

Bonneville Power Administration offers a competitive salary range of $115,000 - $170,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.

This position is located in Long Term Power Planning (PGPR) organization of Power and Operations Planning (PGP), Generation Asset Management (PG), Power Services (P).
