Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Community Employment Specialist Team Lead to join our team at Nevins, Inc. This role will involve directing on-the-job training opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities within the Atrium Health System.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate individuals with I/DD onsite observations.
  • Assist individuals with I/DD with maintaining employment.
  • Review billing of community employment specialists prior to entering into electronic health record and submitting to the Director of Clinical Services.
  • Assess the needs, strengths, and preferences of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Ensure the confidentiality of individuals with I/DD, including their records and individual support services provided.
  • Consult with and educate employee/employer (Atrium) on how to work with individuals with I/DD.
  • Monitor and assist work schedules and coverage of assigned individuals with I/DD.
  • Monitor and record incidents and accidents.
  • Monitor community employment specialists providing supervision of individual with I/DD as appropriate.
  • Assist Program Supervisor with collecting progress data for authorization requests.
  • Participate in developing annual person-centered plan in conjunction with the treatment team as appropriate.
  • Attend and participate in all mandated meetings, trainings, professional conferences, and seminars.
  • Maintain professional rapport with all community employment specialists, treatment team members, and stakeholders.
  • Maintain professional contact with families of individuals with I/DD to conduct routine check-ins.
  • Establish relationships with employers regarding problems, complaints, and progress of individuals with I/DD.
  • Develop and maintain customer (individual with I/DD/parent/guardian) relations.
  • Assist community employment specialists with issues related to individuals with I/DD and work sites.
  • Provide training to individuals with I/DD and staff, as necessary.
  • Respond as needed to behavioral support needs of individuals with I/DD.
  • Operate and/or utilize a variety of office and other equipment such as copier, telephone, fax, computer equipment, and general office supplies.
  • Respond as needed in emergency situations.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
