Position Overview

The role of the Plant Technical Services Manager involves collaborating closely with the management team at designated facilities to enhance quality and operational efficiencies within plant operations. This position is pivotal in spearheading process enhancement initiatives and addressing operational challenges to uphold production standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive evaluations of manufacturing workflows to pinpoint areas of inefficiency.
  • Formulate and execute plans aimed at process optimization, with an emphasis on waste reduction and productivity enhancement.
  • Apply statistical methodologies to assess and track process performance metrics.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts throughout the manufacturing facility.
  • Identify, define, and manage projects that aim to lower overall costs while improving safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of relevant codes and regulations.
  • Oversee quality assurance initiatives to ensure the delivery of superior products that align with customer expectations and standards, while enhancing the site’s quality management framework.

Expectations for this Role

  • Responsible for managing professional staff and/or supervisors or overseeing large, intricate technical or operational teams.
  • Accountable for the performance and outcomes of a team within the designated discipline.
  • Adjust departmental strategies and priorities to meet resource and operational challenges.
  • Decisions are influenced by established policies, procedures, and business objectives, with guidance from senior management.
  • Provide technical support and direction to team members and stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications & Skills

  • A Bachelor’s Degree is required, preferably in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • 5-7 years of relevant industry experience is necessary.
  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma or Yellow/Green/Black Belt is advantageous.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Ability to remain in a standing or seated position for extended periods.
  • Capability to work in both plant and office settings.
  • Work conditions may involve exposure to dust, fumes, moderate noise, and uneven surfaces.
