General Medicine Faculty for Asheville, NC

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated General Medicine Faculty member to join our team at MAHEC in Asheville, NC. The successful candidate will provide exceptional patient care services, resident and student teaching, mentoring, curriculum planning, and effective supervision.
Key Responsibilities:- Clinical Services:
- Provide direct clinical care to ambulatory patients and hospitalized patients (if interested), with the amount of time spent in the outpatient and inpatient venues determined by mutual agreement with the Department Chair.
- Participate in the faculty on-call system, including night and weekend on-call duties (telephone call only; no in-hospital responsibilities).
- Comply in a timely manner with all institutional policies for professional work, including credentialing, documentation, and billing.
- Work effectively with other members of the extended inter-professional team.
- Teaching and Mentoring:
- Serve as a faculty advisor and mentor for residents.
- Supervise and teach house staff in the resident outpatient practice.
- Promote and participate in education programs of the department (continuing education, resident, student), to include didactics in areas of interest in Internal Medicine.
- Serve in an administrative teaching role for CQI team activities and core curriculum lectures for residents.
- Research and Scholarship:
- Participate in clinical and educational research, according to skills, interest, and funding (research opportunities may include performance improvement initiatives or formal extramurally funded investigations).
- Minimum of 3 years clinical practice experience post residency training, or completion of faculty development fellowship preferred.
- PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Teaching experience preferred.
- Licensure to practice medicine in North Carolina.
- Certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine Practice or is Board Eligible.
- Appointment in good standing to the medical staff of Mission.
The estimated annual salary range for this position is $200,000 - $300,000 depending on qualifications and experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, paid time off, and continuing education opportunities.
