About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Placement Coordinator to join our team at UofL Health. As a key member of our Access Center, you will play a critical role in ensuring seamless patient transfers and admissions into our hospitals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and process patient transfers and direct admissions into UofL Health Hospitals
  • Obtain and document medical and demographic information from sending providers
  • Coordinate communication between referring physicians and accepting physicians
  • Ensure compliance with EMTALA and Cobra guidelines
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with physicians and peers to provide excellent patient experience
  • Assign appropriate bed placement for patients in ED, PACU, clinics, and outlying facilities
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards of conduct
  • Comply with HIPAA privacy and security requirements to maintain confidentiality
Requirements
  • Licensed or eligible for license in Kentucky
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association
  • Associate degree from an accredited college or university
  • Two years of nursing experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Five years of nursing experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association
