Forensic Nurse Examiner and Advocate

The RN FNE/SANE at UCHealth provides expert care to individuals affected by sexual assault and violence. As a highly skilled Registered Nurse, you will conduct forensic examinations, collect and preserve evidence, and provide direct nursing care while advocating for victims.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct thorough medical histories and assessments of psychological conditions
- Collect and preserve all relevant evidence, including specimens and documentation
- Provide direct nursing care of injuries and administer prophylactic medications as needed
- Communicate with victims and their families regarding evidence collection, treatment recommendations, and reporting to law enforcement
- Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing-approved Registered/Professional Nursing program
- Completion of Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner training within 3 months of hire
- State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- 1 year of RN experience or 6 months of experience as an Advanced Practice Nurse (Nurse Practitioner or Certified Nurse Midwife)
- PREFERRED: 3 years of RN experience in an acute care/hospital setting
