At Nexus Health Systems, we are seeking a skilled Speech Therapist to join our team. As a Speech Therapist, you will play a vital role in conducting patient speech assessments, evaluations, and providing speech therapy services.

", "JOB-SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES": "

* Conduct speech therapy sessions for patients as assigned, utilizing evidence-based practices to promote effective communication and swallowing skills.

* Screen, evaluate, and develop individualized treatment plans to address patients\u2019 speech and language needs.

* Evaluate patients within two to three working days of physician referral, depending on the level of care, and provide timely and accurate documentation of treatment plans.

* Provide age-appropriate therapeutic interventions, including individual and group sessions, to promote optimal communication and swallowing outcomes.

* Evaluate patient response to treatment and document the treatment plan as necessary, ensuring that patients receive the highest quality care.

* Communicate results of speech-language evaluations and recommendations to the treatment team and patient/family, ensuring seamless care coordination.

* Participate in patient care conferences as necessary to provide updated patient progress and goal revisions if needed.

* Serve as a resource in areas of speech-language pathology, providing expertise and guidance to colleagues and students.

* Conduct in-services as requested, staying up-to-date on best practices and research in the field.

* Coordinate treatment activity with other disciplines and team members as appropriate, ensuring a collaborative and patient-centered approach.

* Contribute to the development of improved efficiency and productivity of Unity clinical functions, identifying opportunities for process improvement and implementing changes as needed.

* Offer positive suggestions/solutions to improve service delivery and unit operations, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous quality improvement.

* Assist with the development of student programs as requested, providing mentorship and guidance to students.

* Contribute to the delivery of cost-effective care, utilizing resources appropriately and maintaining equipment to prolong working life.

* Participate in discharge planning, ensuring a smooth transition of care for patients.

* Document and charge daily therapeutic units timely and accurately, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

* Communicate with the Director of Clinical Services regarding department programs, goals, objectives, problems, and successes, ensuring open and transparent communication.

* Supervise SLPA in direct patient care and patient-related activities, providing guidance and support as needed.

* Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the department and the organization.

", "POSITION QUALIFICATIONS": "

* The Speech-Language Pathology Educational Standards Board accredits a master\u2019s level program or whose course work and practice meet course ASLHA certification.

* Minimum of one year working with adult and adolescent populations, preferably in a hospital setting.

* Must be licensed by the state of Texas in Speech-Language Pathology.

* Must be certified in AHA BLS.

* Must maintain current certification in good standing during employment with this facility.
