Behavioral Health Care Specialist

Delta-T Group is seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Specialist to join our team. As a Behavioral Health Specialist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to individuals in need of behavioral health support. Your primary duties will include conducting security screenings, maintaining unit safety, and providing education to individuals on their rights and regulations.
Responsibilities
* Conduct security screenings and inventory property of individuals upon admission to the facility.
* Provide orientation to the Observation Unit and Short-term Inpatient Unit.
* Educate individuals on their rights under DBHDS and DMAS regulations, grievance process, and expectations.
* Maintain safety of the unit and intervene with escalated individuals using therapeutic techniques for de-escalation.
* Perform restraints or seclusions (if applicable) when needed to ensure the individual's safety and the safety of others.
* Lift, move, and transport individuals, using proper body mechanics or accident prevention.
* Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including eating, bathing, dressing, toileting, and transferring.
* Conduct and document individual's vitals and report all questionable results to the RN/Physician attending the individual.
* Conduct and document all BAL, urine drug screens, and urine pregnancy tests.
* Attend court-ordered hearings when subpoenaed and provide testimony at court-ordered hearings.
Requirements
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* 1 year of behavioral health experience.
* Certified training (Safe Clinch, therapeutic options, etc.) preferred.
* Completion of CNA or Patient Care Tech program, preferred.
* Completion of BHT certification, preferred.
