Job Description

">

The Surgical Technician is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our Operating Rooms. This includes preparing instruments and equipment, maintaining a working knowledge of surgical instruments, and recognizing equipment malfunctions.

">

You will assist Surgeons with surgical procedures, set up phaco and retina equipment, and maintain the instrument table and mayo stands.

">

In addition, you will be responsible for stocking supplies, cleaning equipment, and notifying staff of any issues.

">

Responsibilities

">
  • Daily setup and preparation of autoclaves, ensuring proper function and run specifications">
  • Inspection of the O.R. suite daily to ensure cleanliness meets ASC standards">
  • Gowning and gloving in accordance with sterile technique">
  • Setup and maintenance of phaco and retina equipment and instruments">
  • Maintenance of the instrument table, mayo stands, and instruments during cases">
  • Assistance with stocking supplies, cleaning equipment, and room turnover">
  • Notification of issues to staff">

Requirements

">

To succeed in this role, you must have graduated from an accredited program for surgical techniques or have equivalent practical experience.

">

A minimum of 1+ year of experience in an operating room environment, preferably as a surgical technician, is also required.

">

Certification or training in ophthalmology surgical techniques is preferred.

">
