Medical Instructor Trainer

Iroquois Job Corps is seeking a Medical Instructor to join our team.

As a Medical Instructor, you will provide academic instruction to students in accordance with approved curriculum and promote student achievement.

Main Responsibilities:

• Develops and prepares lesson plans
• Administers and corrects tests
• Identifies, selects, and modifies instructional resources to meet the needs of students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs
• Motivates and counsels students in areas of behavior, training, personal problems or study habits
• Cools with independent living advisors, counselors and other staff as necessary to resolve issues affecting student training

Requirements:

• Possesses strong oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrated knowledge of effective instructional strategies, classroom management and content field
• Ability to quickly learn Job Corps methodologies and strategies
• Ability to use different methods and mediums in delivering course material
• Ability to effectively respond to student issues as they arise
• Proficient in the use of a personal computer with emphasis on Microsoft Office, Outlook, etc.

Education Requirements:

• Must be a registered medical technician/technologist, certified phlebotomist, certified medical assistant, or registered nurse, certified licenses, or accredited by the State of New York or by a professional trade organization such as ASPT, NPA, or Medtexx

Experience:

• Must have 5 years' experience in the hospital/laboratory environment performing technical processes and related hospital/laboratory work
• Must have at least one year of experience in phlebotomy instruction or 1 year of related experience in a managerial/supervisory capacity
