Job Summary

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our pediatric care team. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive respiratory care to our young patients in the Neonatal ICU, Pediatric ICU, Pediatric Cardiac ICU, Pediatric General Floors, and Pediatric Emergency Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and Develop Care Plans: Conduct thorough assessments of patients to identify respiratory care needs and develop individualized care plans to meet those needs.
  • Administer Respiratory Care Procedures: Administer respiratory care procedures and modalities, including ventilation, oxygen therapy, and medication administration, in accordance with established standards and policies.
  • Collaborate with Healthcare Teams: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care and coordinate respiratory care services.
  • Provide Education and Support: Educate patients and families on respiratory care techniques, disease management, and self-care strategies to promote optimal health outcomes.
  • Maintain Equipment and Supplies: Ensure the proper functioning of respiratory care equipment and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Requirements
  • Education: Graduate from an accredited respiratory care program with a minimum of an associate degree.
  • Licensure and Certification: Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license issued by the state in which you practice, and Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Skills and Abilities: Effective organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills; proficient computer skills; and excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
