We are seeking a highly skilled RN Clinical Documentation Auditor to join our team at Ascension Via Christi in Wichita, KS. As a key member of our Health Information Management department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of patient records.
Overview
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive clinical documentation integrity audit plan. You will work closely with physicians, mid-level providers, and ancillary staff to educate them on the importance of accurate and complete documentation. Your goal will be to improve the overall quality and completeness of clinical documentation, ultimately enhancing patient care and outcomes.

Job Description
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining a clinical documentation integrity audit plan
- Conducting concurrent and retrospective reviews of medical records
- Creating formal and informal training materials related to audit findings and staff feedback
- Implementing and facilitating training sessions with CDI staff, physicians, and ancillary staff
- Assisting Health Information Management leadership in developing goals, metrics, and targets representing CDI's work performance and provider documentation performance
- Educating newly hired CDI staff and monitoring their progress during orientation
- Establishing relationships with physicians and other healthcare team members to communicate the benefits of complete and accurate documentation
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Clinical documentation proficiencies credentialed from the Association of Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists
- Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing or required professional licensure at the time of hire
Preferred Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in nursing, CCDS certification, or AHIMA ICD-10-CM/PCS Trainer certification is preferred. Additionally, 3-5 years of recent CDS experience, 2 years of recent CDIS auditing and education experience, and 10 years of acute care nursing experience are also desired. Strong analytical and organizational skills, regulatory knowledge, excellent communication skills, flexibility, and proficiency in Google and Microsoft office applications are essential for success in this role.
