Job Summary

Cynet Health is seeking a skilled Travel Nurse RN to join our team in a Labor and Delivery setting. As a Travel Nurse RN, you will have the opportunity to work with mothers during antepartum, labor, recovery, and postpartum care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor Mother and Fetus Vital Signs: You will be responsible for monitoring mother and fetus vital signs and reporting any signs or symptoms of possible complications.
  • Assist MD with Delivery: You will assist the MD with the delivery of the fetus.
  • Interpret EKG and Monitor Patient on Telemetry: You will interpret EKG and monitor patient on telemetry.
  • Report to Supervisor on Unit: You will report to the supervisor on the unit.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assess and Monitor Patient Throughout Labor: You will assess and monitor patient throughout labor, identifying complications during labor.
  • Monitor Contractions and Help Patient with Breathing Techniques: You will monitor contractions and help patient with breathing techniques, monitor patient on telemetry.
  • Perform Basic IV and Central Line Skills: You will perform basic IV and central line skills.
  • Perform Phlebotomy Skills: You will perform phlebotomy skills.
  • Knowledge of Hemodynamics: You will have knowledge of hemodynamics.
  • Administer Pain Medication as Ordered: You will administer pain medication as ordered; administer other meds to address specific medical conditions, such as hypertension and diabetes.
  • Take and Record Patient's Vital Signs: You will take and record patient's vital signs, ascertaining if problematic.
  • Read Fetal Monitor and Ascertain if There is a Problem with Baby's Heart Rate: You will read fetal monitor & ascertain if there is a problem with baby's heart rate.
  • Identify and Manage Life-Sustaining Physiological Functions in Unstable Patients: You will identify & manage life-sustaining physiological functions in unstable patients.
  • Check Patient's Cervix Periodically to Monitor Progression/Lack of Dilation: You will check patient's cervix periodically to monitor progression/lack of dilation.
  • Ensure Patient's Bed is Kept Dry & Clean: You will ensure patient's bed is kept dry & clean; cleans up bodily fluids expelled before & after the birthing process.
  • Contact Anesthesia When/If Patient is Ready for Epidural: You will contact anesthesia when/if patient is ready for epidural; contact delivering physician at appropriate time, ascertaining proper time.
  • Care for Patients on Pitocin, MgSO4 & Continuous Lumbar Epidural: You will care for patients on Pitocin, MgSO4 & continuous lumbar epidural.
  • Ensure Patient is in Proper Position for Delivery & All Monitoring Equipment is Functioning Properly: You will ensure patient is in proper position for delivery & all monitoring equipment is functioning properly.
  • Aid Doctor with Drapes, Gloves, Gowns, etc.: You will aid doctor with drapes, gloves, gowns, etc.; hands doctor delivery instruments as needed during birthing process.
  • Assist MD in Operating Room for C-Section, Monitor Patient on Telemetry: You will assist MD in Operating Room for C-Section, Monitor patient on Telemetry.
  • Proficient in Cardiac Arrest Team Member: You will be proficient in Cardiac Arrest Team Member.
  • Immediate Care of Newborn (Clean, Weigh, etc.): You will provide immediate care of newborn (clean, weigh, etc.).
  • Gives Apgar Scores: You will give Apgar scores.
Minimum Job Requirements
  • Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program: You must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current Nursing License, in Good Standing: You must have a current nursing license, in good standing.
  • Minimum of One (1) Year Labor & Delivery (L/D) Experience: You must have a minimum of one (1) year Labor & Delivery (L/D) experience.
  • AHA BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN. Fetal Monitoring: You must have AHA BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN. Fetal Monitoring.
