About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Director of Advancement Engagement and Annual Giving for Athletics. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with our Advancement colleagues and Athletics staff to develop comprehensive fundraising strategies and program development for the engagement, acquisition, stewardship, retention, and upgrading of donations to Athletics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create relationships with athletics prospects and donors, as well as Suffolk's Athletics staff and student-athletes.
  • Draft, write, and manage targeted athletics digital and print outreach and solicitations.
  • Plan, promote, and implement parent and alumni athletic events.
  • Support coaches in engaging and stewarding donors to their programs.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the Advancement database system known as RE NXT.
  • Track all development-related activities in our RE NXT Advancement database.
  • Assist in data integrity efforts to ensure accurate and complete alumni, donor, and parent database records.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 3 years (Assistant level) or 5 years (Associate level) of fundraising, alumni relations, event management, and development experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations and a strong commitment to helping develop and implement the University's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion policies and goals.
  • Highly professional and ethical standards for handling confidential information.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and writing skills, with the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Demonstrably strong writing, planning, marketing, communications, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with RE NXT database or a similar constituent database, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to travel and work evenings and weekends as needed.
