Drywall Estimator Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Estimator to join our team at GPAC. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of drywall materials, labor costs, and construction processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze blueprints, specifications, and proposals to prepare accurate time, cost, and labor estimates for drywall projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and clients to understand project requirements and constraints.
  • Perform site visits to assess conditions, gather measurements, and evaluate potential challenges.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates and bids, including material quantities, labor hours, and subcontractor costs.
  • Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure competitiveness and compliance with project specifications.
  • Maintain and update a database of historical costs and unit prices for materials and labor.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings and post-bid reviews to address any questions or concerns.
  • Monitor project budgets and assist in cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Stay current with industry trends, material prices, and construction methods to provide the most accurate estimates.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Drywall Estimator or in a similar role within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of drywall materials, installation methods, and construction processes.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
