Job Summary

As a Senior Library Assistant at Duke Divinity School, you will be responsible for performing varied tasks of a complex nature within a library setting. This role requires the application of guidelines to specific library operations and services, as well as the performance of daily activities. You will exercise independent judgment in the execution of these tasks, utilizing your broad knowledge of library operations and services to ensure the highest level of quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Provide support to library patrons, responding to their inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
Assist with the maintenance of library collections, including cataloging, shelving, and weeding of materials.
Participate in the development and implementation of library policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with Duke University's mission and values.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field.
2+ years of experience in a library setting, preferably in a senior role.
Strong knowledge of library operations and services, including cataloging, classification, and research techniques.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to customer service and quality.
