School-Based Opportunity in Prospect Park, PA

About the Role

We are currently seeking a compassionate and proactive School-Based Occupational Therapist to provide direct therapy services to students in our district. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of the diverse developmental needs of students and collaborate effectively with school teams, parents, and other professionals to support each student's growth and achievement.

Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Planning: Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate students' needs, strengths, and areas for growth, and design individualized treatment plans and IEPs.
  • Therapeutic Services: Deliver hands-on therapy, including exercises, skill-building, and adaptive strategies to help students develop motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living capabilities.
  • Collaborative Approach: Work closely with teachers, special education teams, and families to apply therapeutic techniques within the educational setting. Attend IEP meetings and contribute insights on accommodations and adjustments for student success.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of therapy sessions, progress notes, and treatment plans. Prepare required documentation for IEPs, progress updates, and compliance needs.
  • Ongoing Learning: Participate in continuous professional development and stay updated on best practices and advancements in occupational therapy.
Requirements
  • Education: Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure: Valid state license as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Experience: Prior experience in a school-based setting or with children with varying needs is preferred, especially experience in IEP planning and execution.
  • Skills: Solid understanding of occupational therapy practices, strong communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Compensation and Benefits
  • Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
