About Us

CHI St. Alexius Health is a regional health network with a tertiary hospital in Bismarck, serving a diverse population across western and central North Dakota. Our system consists of critical access hospitals, clinics, and outpatient services, offering a comprehensive range of medical services, including a Level II Trauma Center, primary and specialty physician clinics, home health and hospice services, and more.

Responsibilities
  • Assist registered nurses and physicians in the delivery of individualized care to Emergency Department patients, adhering to unit policies and procedures.
  • Perform and document patient hourly rounds, ensuring patient safety on the unit.
  • Serve as a safety attendant/patient sitter for patients requiring 1:1 observation.
  • Cross-train to Life Safety Monitor Technician role.
  • Transport patients safely within and outside the department, as directed by ED registered nurses and/or physicians.
  • Assist with procedures by obtaining needed supplies, ensuring patient rooms are stocked regularly with necessary equipment and supplies.
  • Follow all policies and procedures related to infection prevention/hand hygiene to reduce the spread of illness.
  • Perform point of care glucose meter testing, adhering to medical center policy and procedure.
  • Perform 12 lead EKG as directed by ED registered nurses and/or physicians.
  • Perform clerical duties as assigned.
  • Assist with specimen collection and disposition, adhering to individual scope of practice and medical center policy and procedure.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Basic Life Support certification within orientation period and meets re-certification as required.
  • Must be listed on the Nurse Assistant Registry operated by the North Dakota Board of Nursing or Certified Nurse Assistant certificate issued by the North Dakota Department of Health.
  • Non-violent crisis intervention training within orientation period and meets re-certification as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hospital experience working as a NA/CNA, EMT/Paramedic training/experience.
Compensation

$15 - $19.815 per hour.
