Job Summary:

The Seasonal Welder I is a critical member of our team at Tarrant Regional Water District, responsible for safely performing welding techniques on various projects. This role requires a strong attention to detail, ability to work independently, and a willingness to take on new challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform welding techniques on various projects, ensuring high-quality results and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Assist more senior welders on complex projects, learning new skills and techniques.
  • Keep equipment and work areas clean and well-maintained, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with other team members to complete tasks and achieve project goals.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections of floodgates, dam, and spillway structures.
  • Participate in emergency response efforts, including after-hours responses.

Requirements:

  • 1 year of experience using a cutting torch, grinding, and basic welding.
  • Painting experience.
  • Knowledge of basic welding safety and Hot Work permits.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Valid Texas CDL Class A or B without restriction E.
  • CDL tanker (N) endorsement.

Work Environment:

The Seasonal Welder I will work primarily outdoors, exposed to various weather conditions. The role will also involve working in confined spaces, on waterways, and at heights.

Physical Demands:

The position requires the ability to lift and move up to 80 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
