Job Summary:

Masonicare is seeking a Recreation Therapy Aide to join our team. The successful candidate will develop and implement a variety of recreation programs and services to residents that are socially, physically and cognitively stimulating.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and implement activity plans for residents, in the way of small groups, special events and entertainment.
  • Motivate residents for participation in either planned groups or on a one-to-one basis.
  • Encourage resident participation and provide escort if necessary.
  • Attend meetings as required and participate in educational programs and in-services as mandated.
  • Plan and/or accompany residents on out trips.
  • Understand and follow universal precautions and MSDS books.
  • Review evaluation on new residents completed by Memory Care Resource Coordinator.
  • Complete dementia training routinely and, as needed, to foster a supportive dining experience for our memory care residents.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Pushing/pulling wheelchairs, climbing ladder, using push carts for decorations or supplies, extensive standing/walking.
