Job Title: Diesel Mechanic

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Student Transportation of Vermont, Inc. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing complex operations on large commercial vehicles, including engine, electrical, fuel, brake, and exhaust repairs.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform thorough, accurate preventative maintenance inspections.
  • Complete all required maintenance operations, including lubrication, fluid changes, brake adjustments, and tire rotation.
  • Perform unscheduled maintenance as needed, under the direction of the Fleet Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Perform complex operations, including engine, electrical, fuel, brake, and exhaust repairs, and field tests.
  • Perform emergency roadside services as needed.
  • Inspect equipment and diagnose mechanical defects.
  • Document repairs and parts on work orders completely and accurately.
  • Maintain tools and workplaces in a neat and orderly condition.

Qualifications:

2+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic or mechanic preferred. Accreditation from a school or certification program preferred. Complete all training requirements. Pre-employment background checks.
