Clinical Nurse Supervisor

The Clinical Nurse Supervisor is a pivotal role within the Med/Surg Care team at Porter Medical Center. Reporting to the Unit Manager, this position plays a critical part in planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing practice within the department.
This key leader collaborates with the Unit Manager to provide clinical and administrative leadership for the unit. The primary objective is to create an environment that delivers high-quality patient-centered care. This involves working closely with staff, physicians, other administrative personnel, and team members to achieve optimal outcomes.
Responsibilities
This full-time position requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including staff, physicians, and administrative teams. Shared on-call time, including weekends and holidays, will be required. The Clinical Nurse Supervisor also collaborates with other Clinical Managers and Administrative Nursing Supervisors.
The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. A strong understanding of hospital safety practices and procedures is essential, as is the ability to demonstrate knowledge and competence in clinical areas of responsibility.
The Clinical Nurse Supervisor is responsible for maintaining standards of nursing care on their unit 24/7 and delegates tasks accordingly. They prepare unit-specific performance standards in collaboration with the Unit Manager and evaluate staff performance based on designated standards. Additionally, they assist the Unit Manager with new employee orientation and ongoing training initiatives.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, candidates must hold an unencumbered RN license in the State of Vermont and have current certification in Basic Life Support and ACLS. They should also demonstrate excellent leadership skills, strong time management abilities, and personal effectiveness credibility. Annual education requirements must be met, and adherence to the Porter Hospital Compliance Program is essential.
Salary Range: $37,850 - $56,780 per year
