Looking for a challenging role as a Procurement Specialist in our world headquarters located in Elyria, Ohio. Our ideal candidate will work under the guidance of the Materials Manager to ensure efficient inventory management and procurement processes.

About the Role

This Procurement Specialist position is responsible for maintaining accurate inventories, troubleshooting issues with suppliers and inventory, and processing documentation. The successful candidate will be responsible for running past due supplier reports, updating system messages and report updates to Materials Manager and Business Unit Managers, and expediting materials as necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Routine analysis and review of daily releases to suppliers to ensure timely delivery
  • Maintenance of purchase parameters based on production forecasting and engineering process
  • Close collaboration with sourcing and suppliers to resolve any discrepancies or issues
  • Regular reviews of supplier on-time delivery performance and suggestions for improvement
  • Review and suggestion of action for slow-moving, excess, or obsolete inventory
  • Closely working with production planners to communicate shortages and potential delays
  • Maintenance of accurate system inventories through close cooperation with inventory control
  • Review of blocking orders for purchase parts and follow-up as needed
  • Collaboration with Materials Manager to maintain a purchased part storage warehouse

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Relevant years of experience in inventory control, materials planning, and procurement in a fast-paced plant environment commensurate with this position
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Able to lift and maneuver lbs.
  • Ability to handle confidential information and exercise judgment in complex situations
