Electrical Superintendent Job Description

One Tech Engineering is seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to lead our construction projects in Kansas City, Missouri. As an Electrical Superintendent, you will be responsible for overseeing the electrical aspects of our projects, ensuring safe, timely, and profitable completion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, organize, and supervise electrical construction work to achieve project goals.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure electrical activities are completed on schedule and to specification.
  • Maintain continuity of job progress and maximize efficiencies in electrical construction.
  • Oversee electrical project work activities, including raceway, cable tray, electrical panels, ductbank, grounding, switchgear, transformers, low and medium voltage electrical equipment, wiring, motors, heat tracing, instrumentation, and electrical testing.
  • Supervise and direct the daily efforts of electrical construction, ensuring safety, productivity, and code/specification compliance.
  • Build effective relationships with clients, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with project management to develop and implement project procedures and standards.
  • Authorize purchase requisitions and field design change requests under supervision of Construction Manager and Project Manager.
  • Ensure overall project safety, reviewing and auditing site-specific safety documentation.
  • Provide oversight of electrical and instrumentation installation, conducting and recording related tests.
  • Complete daily field reports and document construction progress.
  • Assess future work activities and identify concerns with work plans.
  • Develop marked-up and as-built drawings to produce record set documents.
  • Direct and manage subcontractors to comply with project schedules and track progress.
  • Verify material deliveries meet specifications and are stored properly.
  • Coordinate with QA/QC Manager to verify welders' qualifications.
  • Witness equipment setting and alignment.
  • Walk down systems prior to, during, and post hydrostatic testing.
  • Develop punch lists of items out of compliance or not completed.
  • Verify current drawing revisions are being used in the field.
  • Understand and execute project scope and changes.
  • Ensure field change orders are executed.
  • Oversee craft supervision and project staffing as required.
  • Provide oversight of project site material and tool management.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree and 7 years of construction management experience or craft supervision experience on electrical projects.
  • Or Associate Degree and 9 years of construction management experience or craft supervision experience on electrical projects.
  • Or High School Diploma/GED and 11 years of construction management experience or craft supervision experience on electrical projects.
  • Excellent communication skills, strong leadership skills, and a strong safety background.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
  • Ability to meet company's driving requirements.
  • Experience managing LOTO is preferred.
