Job Description

This is a paid internship opportunity at Intelsat, a leading global satellite services provider. The internship will last for 12 weeks, starting on May 26, 2025 and ending on August 15, 2025.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented law student to join our team as a legal intern. The successful candidate will assist in various legal projects, including regulatory filings, corporate agreements, and commercial contracts. They will work closely with our business and technical teams to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and laws.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, effective communication abilities, and a willingness to learn new concepts in law, regulation, and technical matters. They should be able to manage multiple priorities, take initiative to explore new areas of learning, and demonstrate sound judgment and professionalism in the workplace.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparing filings at the FCC, including earth station and satellite related applications and requests for authority.
  • Research FCC rules and orders to support regulatory filings.
  • Work with business and technical teams to ensure compliance with FCC rules for operation of satellites, ground stations, and acquisition and use of communications equipment.
  • Assist in preparation of filings with Team Telecom national security agencies in response to data requests.
Requirements
  • Current law student in good standing, enrolled in an accredited law school, pursuing a Juris Doctor degree.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, professionalism, and maturity in the workplace.
  • Effective communicator in both written and spoken English.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in use of MSOffice Suite.
  • 3.0 GPA or above preferred.
  • This role is subject to ITAR/EAR; candidates must be a US Person (this includes US Citizen, Permanent Resident, or Protected Individual).
Compensation

The salary for this internship is $50,000 per year, which is equivalent to approximately $4,200 per month or $9.38 per hour. However, please note that this is an estimated salary and may vary based on factors such as location and level of experience.
