Electrical Engineering Technologist Role Overview

The Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State University is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Technologist to join our Mechanical and Electrical Design & Drafting Department.

As an Electrical Engineering Technologist, you will be responsible for supporting cutting-edge research utilizing PCB software to create complex schematics, PCBs, assemblies, library parts, bills of materials, and other documentation.

You will collaborate with technical staff on conceptual design of complex electro-mechanical systems, drive material selection, packaging, tolerance analysis, manufacturing support, and cost projections efforts.

Additionally, you will provide work status updates and lead or present in design review meetings with senior staff, advance the team through mentoring and technical leadership of junior staff within the department.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree, strong working knowledge of electronic circuits and components in analog and digital design, and strong PCB software knowledge and working proficiency in component creation, schematic layout, and PCB design.
