At Bay Cove Human Services, we are committed to supporting individuals in achieving their goals and realizing their full potential. As an Education and Employment Counselor, you will play a critical role in providing daily supports to individuals in our programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct daily supports to individuals, including daily shift coverage and implementation of program routines.
  • Protect the rights and dignity of individuals receiving services.
  • Safeguard the confidentiality of individuals receiving services.
  • Provide employment support, including on-the-job training and development of individualized training programs.
  • Assess individual training needs and develop descriptive teaching programs and curricula.
  • Implement clinical and behavioral treatment plans, including data collection and clinical consultation as needed.
  • Provide crisis assessment, prevention, and intervention services.
  • Coordinate social, educational, and recreational activities.
  • Communicate effectively with program support staff and maintain written records of progress and service delivery.
  • Administer medications as required.

Requirements:

  • Adequate computer literacy to perform agency functions.
  • Attend required orientation and training, including inservice training, conferences, and seminars.
  • Maintain certification in CPR, SFA, PREVENT, and MAP.
  • Ability to use a computer for documentation, email communication, and online training.
  • Department of Public Health certification in medication administration is required.
  • An acceptable CORI (criminal record assessment) is required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, with one year of previous work experience in a human services setting preferred.
  • Ability to assist individuals with mobility impairments as needed.
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds.
