Electric Power System Technician

We are seeking qualified Journey Line Workers to join our team at FirstEnergy. As a Journey Line Worker, you will be responsible for building and maintaining electric power systems, restoring electric service to customers, and performing various tasks related to line work.
Key Responsibilities- Test, frame, and set poles; climb poles, work in confined spaces; splice and terminate cables.
- Work with live circuits; set grounds; work in trenches, manholes, and confined spaces.
- Install and replace equipment, meters, and streetlights.
- Operate hydraulic equipment, including drills, boom trucks, diggers, pole tamers, hydraulic jacks, and bucket trucks.
- Operate lift equipment, such as aerial lifts and line truck booms.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections.
- Provide on-the-job training, orientation, demonstration, and assistance to apprentice linemen.
- Completion of a federal or state-sanctioned line worker apprenticeship with approved supporting documentation.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience with electric utility or a utility lines construction contractor.
- Valid Class A driving permit by first day of employment.
- Passed a DMV medical exam by first day of employment.
- Ability to wear company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Ability to lift and carry up to pounds.
- Ability to work and drive in all types of weather and road conditions.
- Capable of working extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.
