Job Summary:
As a Registered Nurse with SSM Health, you will deliver professional nursing care in the operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Perform scrub functions, including the selection and handling of instruments and supplies used during procedures.
- Perform circulating functions, including monitoring, recording, and communicating patient condition and managing overall nursing care of patients before, during, and after procedures.
- Directly assist operating physicians with surgical tasks, including hemostasis, suturing, and wound exposure, as well as patient positioning.
- Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use.
- Apply the existing body of evidence-based practice and scientific knowledge in healthcare to nursing practice, ensuring that nursing care is delivered based on patients' age-specific needs and clinical needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- One year of registered nurse experience.
Work Environment:
Day shift, employee position in the SCC Surgery department.
