Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Charge Nurse to join our team at SKLD in Livonia, MI. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional care to our residents and ensuring the smooth operation of our unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess residents' conditions and develop individualized care plans to meet their unique needs.
  • Provide direct care to residents, including administering medications, performing treatments, and assisting with daily living activities.
  • Supervise and mentor Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and State Tested Nursing Assistants (STNAs) to ensure high-quality care and adherence to facility policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Nursing, Unit Managers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination and effective communication.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to enhance resident care and safety.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as facility policies and procedures.
  • Provide education and training to staff members on various topics, including infection control, medication administration, and resident rights.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing or Unit Manager.
Requirements
  • Current state license as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
  • CPR certification.
  • One year of professional nursing experience in a long-term care setting, preferred.
  • Knowledge of applicable state nursing regulations, preferred.
