Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Perioperative Surgical Assistant to join our team at Career Crunch. As a key member of our surgical team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to surgeons during operative procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Technical Assistance: Implement technical assistance to the surgeon during operative procedures, including pre-operative assessment, hemostasis, exposure, tissue handling, suturing, and closure of subcutaneous and skin layers.
  • Scrub and Circulating Duties: Participate in scrub and circulating duties in the Operating Room, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality patient care.
  • Patient Education: Identify patient/family learning needs and implement appropriate measures to educate patients and families.
  • Documentation: Document role in patient care activities in a timely, accurate, and concise manner.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and efficient workflow.

Requirements:

  • Nursing Degree: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Licensure: Licensed (or licensure eligible) to practice as a Registered Nurse by the State of Idaho.
  • RNFA Course Completion: Required to provide documentation of completion of RNFA course.
  • Perioperative Experience: Three years perioperative RN experience required.
  • CNOR Certification: CNOR certification required.
  • Allied Health Privileges: Must meet requirements to obtain allied health privileges through medical staff credentialing.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary: $93,000 per year (based on 80 hours per pay period).
  • Call Schedule: 1 day/week and 1 weekend/month ($4.00/hour while on call).
  • Shift Differential: Evening Shift (3pm-11:30pm) = 8%, Night Shift (11:00pm-7:30am) = 11%.
