Salary:
The hourly rate for this position will be dependent on your experience and education. As a ProCare employee, you will be paid on a weekly basis through direct deposit.
Job Description:
This is an exciting opportunity to lead a Self-Contained/Life Skills Classroom in our elementary school. You will create a supportive and engaging environment for young students with diverse learning needs, focusing on fostering independence, social skills, and practical life abilities.
In this role, you will:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) while coordinating with internal departments
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to achieve student success
- Foster independence, social skills, and practical life abilities in students with significant needs
- Work with 2 Paraprofessionals in the classroom for support
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Education or higher
- A Virginia Teaching License or eligibility
- Certification to work with high school grade levels in the state of Virginia
- Experience working with students with multiple disabilities
- Comfortable with toileting/feeding assistance
