Credit and Compliance Specialist

The Credit and Compliance Analyst is a key member of the Accounting team at Threaded Fasteners, Inc. responsible for ensuring timely government filings and setting up customer accounts. This role involves conducting compliance assessments, monitoring activities, and supporting the implementation of compliance programs. The analyst will also be responsible for signing off on live waivers for customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organize and maintain a yearly schedule for all compliance deadlines.
- Test and make recommendations for internal controls and audit procedures.
- Ensure all government filings are submitted before deadlines.
- Prepare and submit external audits by state and local governments to the Accounting Manager.
- Assist with the preparation and review of sales tax returns.
- Prepare and complete assigned internal audit procedures.
- Complete controls reviews and reports on findings.
- Set up customer accounts daily, which includes gathering signed credit applications.
- Communicate with the AR team concerning lien waivers and new customer accounts requiring credit references.
- Identify and propose improvements to the accounting controls.
- Complete assigned monthly and yearly tasks to assist with month end and year end close.
- Other assigned tasks as assigned by the Accounting Manager.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- 3 years of previous experience.
- Thoroughness and attention to detail.
- Commitment to customer service.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Ability to work with others to achieve a collective goal.
- Ethical Conduct.
Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- 5 or more years of previous experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Primarily sedentary work in a general office environment.
- Ability to communicate and exchange information.
- Ability to comprehend and interpret documents and data.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills for tasks such as typing, filing, and operating office equipment (e.g., photocopiers, fax machines).
- Requires occasional standing, walking, lifting, and moving objects (up to 30 lbs.).
- Must be able to express and exchange written or spoken word.
