Job DescriptionThis position provides high-level administrative support to attorneys in the City Attorney's Office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in legal secretarial duties, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Provide administrative support to attorneys, including drafting ordinances, resolutions, contracts, complaints, answers, demurrers, pleadings, and law and motion documents.
- Manage complex clerical tasks involving knowledge of legal and court procedures, transcription, calendar management, and document control.
- Maintain accurate records, files, and databases, ensuring confidentiality and security as required.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience handling legal secretarial duties in a law office or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- A typing certificate certifying 60 net words per minute, dated within the last 2 years.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Essential Forms programs.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
