Job Title: Radiology Technologist

Job Summary:

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team. As a Radiology Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures, including general diagnostic and fluoroscopic exams. You will work closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and high-quality imaging results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Competently perform basic and intermediate radiographic procedures, including general diagnostic and fluoroscopic exams.
  • Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, and confirm patient understanding.
  • Position patients and select exposure factors for various radiologic examinations, ensuring patient safety and radiation protection.
  • Identify patients, label images, and compare requisitions to physician orders to ensure exam accuracy.
  • Process images, ensuring quality of radiographs, and call back patients as necessary.
  • Assist, communicate, and consult with radiologists to ensure accurate and high-quality imaging results.
  • Prepare and maintain records in accordance with regulatory agencies and enter patient and study information into the radiology information system.
  • Document billing codes of procedures performed to ensure accurate patient charges.
  • Perform patient positioning and transporting duties, requiring lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique.

Requirements:

  • Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
  • Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
  • Advanced training beyond High School in Radiologic Technology.

Working Conditions:

Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders frequently throughout the workday. Must be able to stand/walk for majority of the day. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs. over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance. Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present. May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards as well as blood and body fluids; therefore, personal protective equipment must be worn as necessary.
