About the Role

Olsson is seeking an Associate Civil Project Manager to join our Data Center Site Design group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing mid to large-sized projects and assisting Senior Project Managers on hyperscale, multi-discipline projects.

This role involves the full project life cycle, ensuring timely completion of projects in accordance with established scope, schedule, and budget. You will lead the successful delivery of projects that provide purposeful, high-quality solutions to successfully solve engineering and design needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble project teams and assign individual responsibilities to ensure technical skills, capabilities, and expertise align with project objectives.
  • Create and communicate project scope, schedule, and budget with the project team, client, and contractors, serving as the primary liaison by informing all parties of project progress and challenges.
  • Develop project budgets, review costs, and track adherence of planned budget to maintain client satisfaction and contribute to the execution and financial success of projects.
  • Secure appropriate resources for all stages of the project, ensuring timely completion of assignments.
  • Recognize potential risks or additional costs within project plans and implement strategies to minimize impact.
  • Organize and conduct routine project meetings with the client and project team to establish alignment on project expectations and performance.
  • Document all project deliverables and maintain records, including correspondence, design plans, and other project-related files.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to secure future work.
  • Coordinate contract negotiations.
  • Mentor staff within the team on project management best practices utilizing Olsson's Project Management programs and other project support services resources.
  • Adhere to regulations and enforce safety standards.
Requirements
  • You are passionate about working collaboratively with others, having ownership in the work you do, using your talents to positively affect communities, and possessing high-level organization, leadership, and negotiation skills.
  • You bring to the team strong communication skills, the ability to contribute and work well on a team, a Bachelor's degree in engineering, sciences, construction, planning, landscape architecture, or a related area (or an associate degree with equivalent experience), a minimum of eight years of project experience within an applicable field or discipline with increasing responsibility, a proven track record in meeting and exceeding client expectations through project management activities, and solid interpersonal and decision-making skills and the ability to generate innovative and effective solutions to complex problems.
