Role Summary

MEDRINA - CORPORATE TEAM is seeking a seasoned professional to serve as our Chief Clinical Operations Officer. This strategic role will oversee and manage clinical operations related to physician-at-home services, ensuring seamless coordination of care and optimizing patient outcomes in home-based settings.

About the Role

The Director of Clinical Services is responsible for leading clinical teams, developing protocols for care delivery, and fostering relationships with referral sources while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Clinical Operations Management:
    • Lead the clinical execution of physician-at-home services, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care.
    • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and allied health professionals to deliver care that aligns with best practices and regulatory requirements.
    • Ensure that clinical staff are appropriately trained, supported, and compliant with state and federal regulations, including HIPAA, Medicare, and other payor guidelines.
  • Referral Process Oversight:
    • Develop the process and procedures for submitting prior authorizations to third-party payors.
    • Develop and implement strategies for efficient and effective referral processes from home health agencies to physician groups.
    • Serve as the primary liaison between home health agencies and physician groups, ensuring clear communication and coordination of care.
    • Analyze and optimize referral workflows to improve response times, patient intake, and overall referral conversion rates.
  • Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in home health agencies, physician groups, and other healthcare providers.
    • Act as the main point of contact for referral sources, addressing any concerns or issues in the referral process.
    • Attend meetings with referral partners and develop strategies to increase the number of referrals while improving patient outcomes.
  • Program Development and Growth:
    • Design and implement new care models to enhance physician-at-home services.
    • Identify opportunities for expanding services in alignment with organizational goals and market demands.
    • Lead initiatives to improve patient access to physician-at-home services, particularly for populations with complex medical needs.
  • Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance:
    • Ensure that all clinical operations comply with federal, state, and local healthcare regulations, including Medicare/Medicaid requirements.
    • Monitor patient outcomes and satisfaction, addressing any issues with clinical quality or service delivery.
    • Establish and maintain documentation standards for clinical care and ensure all services are appropriately documented.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) or related healthcare field required (master's degree in nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred).
  • Active and Unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility for licensure required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in administrative role in home health developing care protocols, and lead quality improvement initiatives.
  • Extensive knowledge of referral processes between home health agencies and physician groups.
  • Strong understanding of Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement models and regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with healthcare providers and referral sources.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and experience with data-driven decision-making.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with external partners
