Certified Nursing Assistant

We are seeking a skilled Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team on 3 West, a fast-paced Med/Surg Post-Operative unit at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta.
The Role:As a CNA on 3 West, you will provide patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of MaineGeneral Health.
You will be responsible for performing basic patient care activities, assisting patients with meeting their emotional, physical, and spiritual needs, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality patient care.
The Opportunity:This is a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic CNA to work in a supportive and collaborative environment with a team of highly skilled professionals.
You will work 36 hours per week on the night shift (7p-7a), with rotating weekend and holiday requirements.
The Work:- Perform basic patient care activities within the scope of practice.
- Assist patients with meeting their emotional, physical, and spiritual needs.
- Greets patients and visitors, answers and screens telephone calls, and routes calls as requested.
- Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
- Assists with keeping unit and patient rooms stocked, clean, and orderly.
- State of Maine Certified Nursing Assistant Certification.
- Current BLS (American Heart Association) certification.
- Ability to think and work independently and with direction, and communicate with staff members in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
- High School graduate or equivalent (preferred).
- Comfortable using a computer.
