Job Summary

As a Sales Floor Representative at Howell Machine, Inc., you will play a vital role in assisting customers in finding and purchasing the required merchandise in a retail environment. Your primary responsibility will be to provide excellent customer service while encouraging customers to purchase products.

Duties and Responsibilities

Greet customers and ensure their needs are met
Maintain knowledge of current sales, promotions, policies regarding payment and exchanges, and security practices
Handle money responsibly, including the use of cash registers, counting money, balancing cash drawers, separating charge slips, coupons, and vouchers, and making deposits
Perform price/product lookups
Zone merchandise
Maintain the cleanliness and neatness of the store for presentation

Additional Responsibilities

Required to learn company policies and procedures
Watch for and recognize security risks and thefts, and know how to prevent or handle these situations
Perform housekeeping duties
Unload merchandise from trucks
Perform any other duties assigned by your supervisor

Qualifications

Some retail and/or customer service-related experience
Strong communication skills
High school diploma or GED preferred
Ability to maintain a pleasant demeanor even when being treated unfairly by customers
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
