Wine Sales Representative in New Haven County

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced wine sales representative to join our team in New Haven County, CT.
About the Job:
We are looking for a professional-minded individual who can effectively call on off- and on-premise accounts to give successful presentations for decision-making buyers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for increasing product placements and opening new accounts, maintaining and developing sales by working directly with retailers, and planning and executing a daily schedule of sales calls via a pre-determined account run.
The successful candidate will also be expected to meet or exceed pre-determined service expectations while effectively selling the portfolio and fulfilling designated account run management objectives. Additionally, they will work with supplier representatives and managers in the field to promote sales in the territory, participate in trade and in-store tasting events, set up tastings with account managers, and follow up accordingly.

Responsibilities:
- Calling on off- and on-premise accounts to give successful presentations for decision-making buyers
- Increasing product placements and opening new accounts
- Maintaining and developing sales by working directly with retailers
- Planning and executing a daily schedule of sales calls via a pre-determined account run
- Meeting or exceeding pre-determined service expectations while effectively selling the portfolio and fulfilling designated account run management objectives
- Working with supplier representatives and managers in the field to promote sales in the territory
- Participating in trade and in-store tasting events
- Setting up tastings with account managers and following up accordingly
Qualifications:
- Candidate should have three years of wholesale experience, or commensurate experience in the hospitality industry, interpersonal skills, and a strong work ethic
- Basic knowledge of wine, new and old world, and a desire to expand wine education
- Ability to create opportunity and close a sale
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Excellent personal and written presentation and communication skills
- Computer literate and tech-savvy
- Valid Driver's license and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
