General Oncology Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at St. David's South Austin Medical Center as a Seasonal General Oncology Registered Nurse. This is an exciting opportunity for nurses who want to gain experience in a dynamic and supportive environment.
About the RoleThis seasonal position offers a unique chance to work with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals while gaining valuable experience in oncology nursing. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, working closely with medical providers and other members of the care team to ensure comprehensive and compassionate care for patients.
Responsibilities- Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' conditions during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
- Care Administration: Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers, ensuring thorough and timely documentation of care administration in patients' medical records.
- Medication Management: Administer prescribed medications, monitor patients for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to medication.
- Education and Support: Educate patients, families, and caregivers about patients' medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.
To be eligible for this role, you must possess a current Registered Nurse license, an Associate Degree in Nursing, and have completed Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of employment start date.

Salary: $80,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. The estimated salary range is based on national averages and industry standards for similar positions.
