The salary for this position is estimated to be around $16 per hour, with opportunities for overtime and shift differentials.

Job Description:

The Flamebonder Specialist participates in monitoring material to ensure product corresponds to the agreed customer requirements and material meets Quality Control requirements.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Material Monitoring: Read construction sheet and customer requirement sheet fully in order to meet the customer requirements.
  • Machine Setup Assistance: Assisting co-workers in machine setups.
  • Material Wrapping: Assisting co-workers in wrapping material.
  • Quality Reporting: Participate in reporting any quality problems to Supervisor immediately.
  • Labeling and Documentation: Participate in the labeling of any problem areas in the liner and completing relevant paperwork in order to keep correct documentation of records.
  • Material Inspection: Periodically check the width of material to ensure it meets customer requirements.
  • Supply Management: Continually review supplies and report to your Supervisor any shortages.
  • Workplace Safety: Work in a safe manner at all times by following the company safety policies and procedures.
  • Cleaning Duties: Maintain a clean work environment by performing cleaning duties when required.
  • Roll Management: Make sure correct rolls are located prior to running the machine.
  • Felt Strip Monitoring: Monitor to progress of the felt strip and change the strip when needed.
  • Run Preparation: Prior to the run, make sure number of layers is correct, previous welds are satisfactory and make sure the correct number of rolls are being utilized.
  • Propane Tank Maintenance: Propane tank weight must be checked on a daily basis.

Education and Experience:

  • A GED/High School Diploma is required.
  • Satisfactorily complete 3 months on-the-job training.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to perform physically demanding work for 8+ hours a day, including prolonged standing and walking, bending, and twisting.
  • Requires full range of motion including eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 60 lbs. on a continuous basis.
  • Must possess basic math skills.
  • Able to wear required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working as required by the job.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position with days and hours of work typically Monday through Friday but could include shift work, weekends, evenings and/or holidays - flexibility is required as job duties demand.
