Lead Caregiver

Sunrise Senior Living is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Lead Care Manager to join our team. As a Lead Care Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality of care and services are provided to our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide supervisory support to Care Managers, ensuring attendance, managing call-offs, and sending open shift messages.
- Support team members in providing Activities of Daily Living (ADL) care and services, encouraging personalized and meaningful resident participation in life enrichment programming.
- Assist with meal service, coaching team members on hospitality standards, and accurately documenting care and services provided.
- Ensure compliance with Sunrise's Timekeeping and Meal/Rest Period policies, monitoring team member break schedules and durations.
- Display flexibility in work schedules, working holidays, evenings, weekends, and additional shifts as needed.
- Prepare for shifts by obtaining resident group assignments, printing, and handing out daily assignment sheets to team members.
- Participate in crossover meetings, sharing and receiving pertinent information with/from other Lead Care Managers.
- Cross-trained and credentialed to safely administer medications during high-volume or unexpected absences.
- Lead by example, clocking in/out, and taking proper meal/rest breaks.
- Participate in group interview processes, including job preview videos and community tours.
- Support onboarding of new team members, including shadowing and skills demonstrations.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for staff, residents, and guests, following established safety standards.
- Report incidents and complete necessary paperwork immediately.
- Communicate observed or suspected resident changes of condition to the department care coordinator.
- Prevent and handle conflicts by working with the team towards a solution.
- Contribute to care manager annual performance reviews by providing feedback to the department care coordinator.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED strongly preferred and may be required per state regulations.
- Ability to read, write, communicate effectively with Care Managers, Community Managers, residents, and family members.
- In states where applicable, must maintain certifications.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Medication Management Certificate required, with ongoing training and re-education per Sunrise and state requirements.
- Previous experience working with seniors and a desire to serve and care for seniors.
- Demonstrates leadership competencies.
- Ability to delegate assignments to the appropriate individuals based on their skills, roles, and interests.
- Ability to make choices, decisions, and act in the residents' best interest.
- Ability to appropriately react to and remain calm in difficult situations.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Competent in organizational and time management skills.
- Demonstrate good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Competent in computer skills, Microsoft Office, and Sunrise applications, with the ability to learn new applications.
