Waste Management is seeking a highly skilled Diesel Shop Supervisor to join our team.

About the Job

The Diesel Shop Supervisor will be responsible for supervising and providing direct leadership to technicians, managing workflow and assigning tasks. The shift is Monday through Friday from 1:30 pm to finish.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of employees in the maintenance shop.
  • Coordinate and supervise all maintenance work and repairs, monitoring progress and quality.
  • Review driver repairs and other maintenance requests, preparing work order documents.
  • Perform mechanical duties as needed.
  • Monitor inventory of replacement parts and restock as needed.
  • Oversee personnel, including coaching, training, evaluating employee performance, and conducting disciplinary action as needed.
  • Interpret and ensure consistent application of organizational policies and safety regulations.
  • Create and submit reports as necessary.
Supervisory Responsibilities

The highest level of supervisory skills required in this job is the management of non-supervisory employees. This includes:

  • Direct supervision of 7 full-time employees, including mechanics, technicians, and clerks.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Four years of relevant work experience.
