Job Summary

As a dedicated professional in the field of nutrition and public health, we are seeking a skilled Certified Nutritionist to join our team as a WIC Program Coordinator. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing applications and certifying applicants for WIC eligibility, providing counseling, education, and assessment for infants, children, and pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct client care for Public Health District clients, including interviewing and assessing nutritional status to determine client's WIC eligibility and nutrition care plan.
  • Perform anthropometric and biochemical measurements, provide nutrition education and outreach programs, and work with the community to increase public awareness of proper nutrition.
  • Provide information, counseling, and medical case management according to specific program and physician guidelines.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition or Dietetics, or Licensed Vocational Nurse or Registered Nurse with an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • WIC Certification Training is required within one year of hire if the degree held is not directly related to nutrition.
  • Technical certifications in public health are preferred and may be required.
  • Must possess a valid Texas Driver's license.
