About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Operations Manager to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and manage the day-to-day clinical operations of our ICU unit.

Job Summary

The Clinical Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the clinical operations of the ICU unit, ensuring high-quality patient care and compliance with regulatory requirements. This includes managing staff development, monitoring quality and utilization standards, and supervising daily shift activities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Operational Leadership: Manage the day-to-day clinical operations of the ICU unit, including practice standards, staffing, payroll, budgets, fiscal management, and quality improvement.
  2. Staff Development: Develop and implement action plans to improve staff development, supervision, and performance.
  3. Clinical Oversight: Monitor the allocation and utilization of personnel based on continual changes in patient population/needs and provide the best level of patient care while identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  4. Risk Management: Supervise the daily unit operations, including human resources management, department and employee safety programs, and risk management.
  5. Quality Improvement: Monitor the quality of service and utilization standards and assume specific responsibility for patient care at the unit level, ensuring coordinated plans of treatment, customer-focused care, and cost-effective utilization of services.
  6. Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work with healthcare providers outside of the unit to achieve optimal patient care across the continuum, research, identify, and implement best practice models of other units, investigate and resolve patient/family member concerns regarding patient care.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse License (California) required at hire.
  • Minimum two (2) years of nursing experience required.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience as charge nurse, preceptor, quality improvement champion or other related leadership experience.
  • Evidence of training completion as preceptor or charge nurse.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of quality improvement, clinical care delivery processes, staffing, & budgeting.
  • Knowledge of Nursing Practice Act, The Joint Commission & other federal, state, & local regulatory requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this position is $90,000-$120,000 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, Kaiser Permanente offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, retirement plan, and paid time off.
