Job Summary

As a Barista at Black Rock Coffee Bar, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, crafting high-quality beverages, and fostering positive coworker relationships. Your genuine passion for coffee, meticulous attention to detail, and commitment to forging authentic connections will guarantee memorable experiences for each customer, contributing to a strong sense of community and leaving a positive impact on the neighborhood.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welcome customers and team members with a positive, welcoming, and engaging environment.
  • Prepare and serve coffee and coffee-less beverages and food items using retail equipment, such as espresso machines and convection ovens.
  • Maintain clean and organized work and customer areas, following health and safety guidelines.
  • Promote new coffee offerings and seasonal specials to enhance brand awareness and sales.
  • Handle accurate cash and credit transactions, including daily cash deposits when required.
  • Support training initiatives and mentor new team members during their onboarding process.
  • Manage daily, weekly, and monthly tasks assigned by the leadership team.
  • Handle customer complaints and resolve issues professionally and promptly.
  • Assist in inventory management and restock supplies as needed, including product displays.
  • Conduct line busting during peak periods to expedite customer orders, which may require exposure to various elements.
  • Proficient at working independently during shifts with self-directed initiative and minimal supervision.
  • Always follow Black Rock Coffee Bar's policies and procedures diligently.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements
  • Constant standing and walking for up to 8 hours to perform job duties.
  • Occasional stooping, kneeling, or crawling may be required.
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasional use of ladders and ramps to access elevated areas.
  • Frequent wrist and spine movement during beverage preparation and tasks.
  • Constantly receives and exchanges detailed information through oral communication.
  • Maintains clear vision for reading orders and interacting with customers.
  • Demonstrates precise mental math skills for both following recipes and conducting accurate cash transactions.
