Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Underground Dry Utility Estimator to join our team at 347 Group, Inc. This position will work with the Underground Utility group for dry utilities (transmission/distribution gas and power).

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review proposal specifications, drawings, and existing site conditions, and attend pre-bid meetings to ensure accurate estimates.
  • Prepare bid documentation required for submittal, including scope of work and cost estimates.
  • Coordinate scope of work with Project Managers and Subcontractors to ensure successful project execution.
  • Interface with Owners and other contractors to provide engineering and cost data regarding project feasibility.
  • Prepare estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work, including all materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate files of working documents as backup for estimated figures.
  • Assist in creating preliminary project schedules following awarded contracts.
  • Coordinate the implementation of subcontracts with the Contract Manager.

Requirements

  • 4-year engineering or construction management degree preferred or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience required.
  • 5-8 years of estimating experience, including underground gas and power projects.
  • Proficient with MS Office, including Advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of estimating techniques and cost controls, plus ability to interpret computerized data and systems.
