Facilities Maintenance Technician

We are seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Mechanic to join our team in Carlsbad, CA. The role involves performing a variety of maintenance tasks in a dynamic manufacturing environment that includes assembly, machining, sheet metal work, welding, and powder coating. This position focuses on predictive, preventive, and reactive maintenance, requiring excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to ensure the smooth operation of various systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute predictive, preventive, and reactive maintenance tasks.
  • Use diagnostic tools and methods to troubleshoot and repair machinery.
  • Document and maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Install new equipment, including electrical, hydraulic, plumbing, and pneumatic connections.
  • Read blueprints and equipment manuals to plan and perform repair work.
  • Conduct general building repairs, including drywall, painting, and door repair.
  • Assist in facility upkeep and cleanliness.
  • Order supplies and materials for repairs and maintenance.
  • Install racking systems for space optimization.
  • Unclog drains and replace plumbing fixtures.
  • Perform general cleaning and maintenance tasks as assigned.
  • Identify required parts and supplies, submit purchase requisitions, and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities maintenance, including carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical work.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, diagrams, and drawings.
  • Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to evaluate and develop solutions.
  • Basic math skills, including the ability to use weights, measures, and percentages.
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
